Our Story So Far…
Kev started the business in 2010, operating out of a reconditioned implement shed. Since then, it has grown into a substantial operation, now featuring a large, convenient drive-thru.
We source quality products from trusted brands around the world, allowing us to offer a carefully selected range that meets the needs of both lifestyle and farm animals.
We cater for most types of lifestyle animals, with feed and supplements available for horses, cattle, dogs, poultry, pigs, cats, rabbits and birds. Kev is an experienced stockman with extensive knowledge across all aspects of animal health and wellbeing. We also have access to expert nutritional advice for all animals — from elite racehorses to backyard budgies and everything in between.

Kevin
Kev has always had a vision for building something meaningful, and he’s truly set the tone for everything we do. From sourcing quality products at fair prices to building strong relationships with international brands, Kev is focused on bringing our customers a standout range they can rely on.
When he’s not in the store, Kev is usually making feed or out on deliveries — there’s never a dull moment.

Vicki
OWNER, SALES & ADMIN, Where would we be without her!Vic is our leading lady. When she’s not working her day job at Livestock Improvement, where she coordinates AI services with LIC clients, she’s across the admin and helping customers here at Balcairn Stockfoods.
An avid horse enthusiast, Vic spends her spare time (what spare time?) with her horses — bringing plenty of practical, hands-on knowledge into the store.
Derek works in-store looking after our customers and making sure the shelves are always well stocked and ready to go. He’s a wealth of knowledge, so whatever you’re after, Derek can point you in the right direction.
Fun fact: Derek’s a real stickler for tidiness and keeping everything shipshape – which means it’s always easy to find exactly what you need.

PART-TIME customer service & store personJorja started with us on school work experience and now she works for us every Saturday and she helps Kev out on the delivery runs.
Fun fact: Jorja is our sponsored rider, so keep an eye out for her on her lovely ponies across all the disciplines.
Sam
part-time customer service LEGENDFriendly and attentive and always ready with a hand or advice, Sam’s been our go-to guy for years. Now semi-retired, he still pops over most weekdays (he literally lives just across the road) to help out during lunch breaks, the place wouldn’t be the same without him!
